And now about Cross Stitching

Previously I've mentioned to you that I abandoned beadwork for years. To be honest with you, the reason wasn't the new arrival. It was the unexpected and completely accidental occurance of another craft in my life.
It was 2007 April, I was in the last few weeks of my pregnancy with my daughter, Szederke. I was allowed to get up by then, and actually advised to take short walks, to regain my strenght for the labour.
One of these walks took me to a large stationery shop, where I was hoping to find some Easter themed door wreath, or any kind of decoration since Easter was coming up.
Well, there was no such thing, but what I did find was cute little cross stitch kits, and here's what I made of them

As you can see, they're very very simple and that's probably what did the trick for me, because I never thought of myself doing stichwork, knitting, crocheting and all that messing with needles and yarn. Had there been some proper ready made Easter wreaths available in the store, I would probably never have started stitching at all.  But anyway, I really got enthusiastic about it, /not only stitched more and more, but joined forums, round robins (never again!!!), subscribed to magazines, and placed bids on ebay for old magazines. I also invested into a couple of pattern books, and I do have a favourite designer, Sam Hawkins. I have unfinished projects too, and I know some of them will stay like that forever.
So I will keep you updated about my newest cross stitching adventures as well, actually old and new, whatever pops up. Here are some other things I've made throughout the years

There is a much more intricate lighthouse design I still need to finish

My son was crazy about Thomas back in the day

This is very recent, a Xmas gift for my dad and his wife

I made this for my best friens, who is also my daughter's godmother

This I made for my daughter's baptizing

My mom's crazy about wild ducks, this one was for her

A little sunhat for my 4 month old girl, with her name on it ;)
Unfortunately, pictures of my works so far are here and there, but if something comes up, I'll show it to you. I've recently finished a skating penguin for my son's request, and right now I'm stitching a Totoro pattern to commemorate the birth of my best friend's first child. I just hope to finish soon. Usually I'm too tired to start stitching in the evening....
